Horizon Montessori is a private Montessori school in Cleveland Heights founded in 1973 to provide for young children an atmosphere of responsibility and freedom. We foster a realistic setting in which children can creatively develop an awareness of themselves and others.
For over fifty years, under the leadership of Diane Roberto, Horizon Montessori has served families of hundreds of students, 18 months through kindergarten (age 6). Located on almost three-quarters of an acre, with mature trees and a grassy play area with gardens, the 4,000-square foot school on Mayfield Road has three classrooms, plus a gym, bursting with learning and exploration.
The principle of inner strength extending outward is what Dr. Montessori envisioned as the basis for their future, a concept which is proving within our grasp.
